Selection Process:

1. The selection methodology will comprise Written Test and a Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT). The SPPT will be of

2. A candidate will have to secure a minimum of 40% marks in the written test to qualify for further consideration.
3. The minimum qualifying marks in the written test will be relaxed by 5% for candidates belonging to SC/PwBD categories
considered against reserved positions.
4. Obtaining minimum qualifying marks in the written test does not confer any right or claim by the candidate for being
shortlisted for further consideration or the final selection, as the same is related to number of positions, ratio applied and
relative performance in respective categories.
5. Short listed candidates, in the ratio of 1:2 (two candidates for one post, with due cognizance to number of reserved posts)
subject to securing minimum qualifying marks in the written test, will be required to undergo a Skill/Proficiency/Physical
Test (SPPT). The SPPT for each discipline shall be conducted by a duly constituted committee.
6. In case of tie of marks in the written test for the last position on the Shortlist for SPPT, all such candidates shall be called
for the SPPT, even if the total number exceeds the prescribed ratio. If such a situation arises anywhere before the last
position while drawing a list, the last name/last few names, in proportion to the prescribed ratio, will get eliminated.
7. Category-wise Merit list shall be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in the written test from & out of the said short-list; only for such candidates who qualify in the SPPT.
8. In case of tie of marks for the last position on the Merit List, the candidate with prior date of birth (senior by age) shall find
a place in the Merit list. However, the name of the junior shall also be retained in the said Merit List, as the last name. If
such a situation arises anywhere before the last position while drawing a list, the last name/last few names in the list, in
proportion to the prescribed ratio, will get eliminated.
9. PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates, if found suitable, will be considered against reserved vacancy irrespective of their
position in Merit list (in order of merit within the category) on horizontal reservation policy.
10. The candidature of the applicant would be provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates/ testimonials,
experience etc. At any stage of the selection process, if it is found that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect
information, the candidature/appointment of the candidate will be cancelled.
11. Filling up of vacancies is solely at the discretion of the management based on suitability of candidates and no claim will
arise for appointment, if some of these vacancies are not filled due to unsuitability of available candidates or insufficiency
in number of candidates.
12. The decision of the Management will be final and binding on all candidates on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance
or rejection of the application, mode of selection, cancellation of the selection process either in part or full, etc. No
correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Description of Duties

This includes complete testing of motors, transformers, Circuit breaker, starter modules, MCCBs, relays (primary and secondary injection), tan delta tests, oil BDV testing etc. The technicians shall be capable troubleshooting/ rectifying PA systems, UPS, Battery chargers, battery banks, soot blowers, carrying out generators testing, end termination & straight through joints of cables up to 33 kV, usage of cable fault kits, HT and LT panels as well as cable hi-pot tests. They shall be capable of reading electrical drawings and carrying out modifications or rectification of control and power circuits in HT and LT panels as per requirement. They shall be capable of monitoring healthiness of SCADA system, carrying out Infrared thermography and preparation of reports for the same in Word/ Excel. The above activities need to be carried out during general shift, shifts, turnaround shut downs, etc.




Maintenance Technician Instrumentation The role and responsibilities includes carrying out corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance of various instruments and control systems in Refinery. This includes dropping, calibration & re installation of different types of pressure, flow, level and temperature instruments as well as analyzers. Preparation of calibration reports, PM check reports, check lists, etc. Wet leg filling & calibration of level instruments, un plugging of lead lines & proving clear of all tapings. Checking, overhauling & calibration of different types of instruments, final control elements (Control valves), analyzers, solenoid valves, etc. Checking & troubleshooting of the tankage instruments like servo gauges, radar gauges, RIM seal systems, etc. Checking of safety instruments like, smoke detectors, fire detectors, gas detectors, flame scanners, manual call points, clean agent protection system, etc. Checking of DCS, PLC, SCADA, SOE, HMI, CCTV, Wireless and MMS systems. Checking of instrument loops, junction boxes, unit trip & interlock systems, start-up and commissioning assistance, etc. The above activities need to be carried out during general shift, shifts, turnaround shut downs, etc.

Maintenance Technician Mechanical Perform maintenance activities of all production equipment which includes, but not limited to, Pumps, Compressors, Fans, Boilers, Heaters, Heat Exchangers, Coolers/ Condensers, Pipelines, Pressure Vessels, Soot Blowers, Valves, Tanks, Steam Turbines, Mixers, Agitators, Gas turbines, filters, level gauges, lifting tools and structural. SELECTION PROCESS For the above posts the selection methodology will comprise of GATE 2019 Score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. a) The short-listing of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained by them in the GATE 2019 examination. Score from GATE-2018 or from any previous GATE examination is not valid. The marks obtained out of 100 in the GATE Score Card will be taken into consideration for short listing the candidates. The candidates will be called for further selection process in the ratio of 1:5 (i.e. 1 Post: 5 candidates, as per the reservation of posts).In case multiple candidates are having same GATE marks, then the candidate who has got higher marks in the Base qualification mentioned at Table-1 above will be considered for further selection process. b) Further Selection process comprises of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. c) There will not be any separate cutoff/ qualifying marks for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The Final merit list of candidates shall be prepared based on total sum of weightage of GATE score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview Marks. 85% weightage shall be given to GATE score and 5 marks will be given for Group Discussion and 10 marks for Personal Interview.

f) Percentage of marks should be aggregate of all years/semesters i.e., total marks obtained over total maximum marks of all years/semesters without giving any weightage to any particular year/semester, irrespective of the method used by the University/Institution. Aggregate percentage of marks should not be rounded off (for example 54.99 % not be rounded off as 55 %) g) All the qualifications specified above should be recognized by Board of Technical Education / UGC/AICTE.

SELECTION PROCESS: a) The selection process shall consist of written test. The candidates shall be considered for engagement based on the marks scored in written test and subject to meeting the advertised specifications, verification of documents/any other criteria prescribed by MRPL etc. i. WRITTEN TEST (Duration- 90 Minutes) The WRITTEN TEST will comprise of 50 Multiple Choice Question from the concerned discipline/domain/subject for 50 marks Note- 1. All questions carry equal 1 mark. There will be no negative marking. 2. The Question Papers for Written Test will be Bilingual i.e. in English & Hindi. 3.
